SILENT VOICES IN SACRED SPACES - OPEN CALL
Artist Allison Ward is seeking sound works for her upcoming exhibition at SITE Gallery, SILENT VOICES IN SACRED SPACES. The show confronts the intersections of femininity, queerness, and subjugation within Christianity, transforming the gallery into a liminal church environment. A space that reckons with the silences embedded in Christian tradition and the voices historically excluded, altered, and suppressed by the institution.
This open call invites experimental or traditional sound compositions that resonate loosely with the themes of the exhibition.
This open call is open to current SAIC students and faculty/staff ONLY.
Compositions should be anywhere from 10 minutes and up to 30 minutes long.
Selected works will be played throughout the gallery space on selected dates throughout the run of the exhibition (November 2 - December 4, 2026).
